We have received quite a few overnight leave forms for residential students taking time away from NYU Precollege to be with family and friends.  Forms are available online in the NYU Precollege Handbook.

As a reminder, all requests must be made by submitting an overnight leave form.  We cannot accept emails or phone calls in lieu of a form.  Also, all forms must be submitted at least 48 hours in advance of the date of leave and no later than 12:00 p.m. on Fridays for weekend leaves. Leaves require time and planning for our residential staff.  We cannot guarantee that we will be able to process a request for leave if it is received too late.  Once a request is reviewed and processed, students receive approval notice via email.  If a student leaves campus prior to receiving this approval, he/she is at risk of violating curfew and facing disciplinary action.

Finally, students are informed when they take a leave that, by definition, a "leave" is a period of time the student chooses to remove herself from the NYU Precollege program.  As such, students cannot participate in any Precollege events during the time of their leave and are expected to remain off campus until their leave ends.  Leaves also do not excuse students from missing or late work.  They are expected to meet the requirements of their courses despite any time on leave.

If you have any questions about leaves from NYU Precollege, please email [email protected].
